Wall plates are used to attach fencing and gates to brick or block walls.
Simply fix your wall plate to your wall using resign anchor bolts or screws and plugs. You can then hang a gate from it giving an perfect surface to attach your hinges.
Sometimes it is not possible to fix a post near a building as the footing will be in the way. By fixing a wall plate in place instead you can create a secure starting point for your fencing without the need to dig in the ground. Often wall plates can also be used when you want to fix fencing above a garden wall.
