If you are looking for a gapless Red Cedar fence panel then our Cequence Privacy slim panel is the perfect option. These fence panels are designed to fit together to create a seamless fence with no visible posts. A continuous line travelling around your garden brings a sense of order and calm to outdoor spaces. The warm Cedar colours are also the perfect backdrop to plant against and are a wonderful foil for sculpture or water features.
Our Grade A Privacy slim panels are made from high quality Canadian Cedar that is selected for quality. When you purchase an A grade panel you can rest assured that you have a fence panel that is made from the best timber we have. Your Cedar panel will have a planed smooth finish.
Unique Style Fencing
Our popular red Cedar fence panels have the unique style of slatted fencing but also has the added benefit of offering complete privacy. Our standard slatted fencing panels have small gaps between each batten so it is possible to look through the gaps, these Privacy slim fence panels give the same contemporary look but offer complete privacy without the gaps.
This unique panel is the ideal solution for privacy in your garden, the shiplap boards have rebates in them that give an attractive shadow line and slatted look.
Red Cedar slatted fencing panels are constructed from high quality Western Red Cedar shiplap boards in our joinery workshop. These panels are used in conjunction with our posts and capping as part of the patented Cequence system or they can be attached to a wall or existing fence.
Combining open slatted and privacy panels
If you want the top section of your fencing to have open gaps to allow light through then you can mix and match our slatted fencing. One of the most popular combinations is using Cequence privacy slim or Privacy panels at a height of 150cm with a 30cm open slatted top section. Why Slatted fencing?
The rise in popularity of slatted fencing has been huge. One of the reasons for this is that the strong lines of horizontal fencing contrasts so well against plants and natural elements.
It is a real case of opposites attracting! On the one hand you have the strong structural lines of horizontal fencing and the other hand the natural form of plants and trees, together they just work!
But why is horizontal slatted fencing so appealing to look at? Well we think it may have a lot to do with the shadows between each strip of wood. These shadows act as a separator allowing your eye to perceive each individual board. This is further highlighted when these boards run around the garden uninterrupted. Combine this with the wonderful varied colours of Western Red Cedar and it just becomes something really special.

Installing privacy fencing on top of a wall
The natural colour variation of our Western Red Cedar is simply stunning. Colours vary from light honey tones through soft reds to dark browns. Within this range of colours there are also two and three tone swirling patterns of natural grain. The naturally occurring colours of Cedar are unique and very beautiful. These characteristics separate Cedar from all other types of timber and set it as the favourite choice for garden designers and architects for use within contemporary schemes.
Cedar has a natural preservative oil within it that eliminates the need for further chemical treatments it acts as natural preservative to help the wood resist rot and decay. This makes it the perfect material to construct quality fencing. Many people prefer to allow their cedar fencing to “naturally age” outdoors without any finish at all. Over time the colour will weather to a handsome silver-grey highlighted by darker streaks, and the grain of the wood will become slightly raised.
Some clients prefer to maintain the look of the warm colours of Cedar and opt to have the fencing panels treated. We recommend Textrol HES – UV protection oil to protect and enhance the colour of your Cedar. Textrol HES is available to buy in our online shop. This enhances the natural colours of the Cedar panels and keeps them looking fresh as the day they were installed. Normally this stain would need to be refreshed every two to three years to keep the panels looking their best.

Clean and consistent quality – Knots rarely present
Green Cedar – 21- 30% – Not Kiln Dried
Clear Grade 2 unless otherwise stated Permitted – occasional small sound tight knots are permitted within industry grading rules – these will be sound tight knots.
Minor shrinkage may occur as our Cedar baens are green when new, this is usually a maximum of 2% – 3%
Occasional – light sap wood may be present in small percentage of boards.
Small splits on ends are permied on small percentage of boards.
Machining marks may be present on a small quantity of boards, these may be small blemishes or stains from machining processes.
Boards with minor curvature and twisting, as far as proper installation is ensured. As a guide, a 10mm deviation from true is permied on a 19 x 38 x 2440mm board. The longer the board, the greater the deviation from true is permitted.
