Description

Hit and Miss Fence Panels – Venetian Redwood – Double Slat –  1830mm width

Due to popular demand, our Venetian Redwood is finally available in a double sided fencing style (also called double slatted or hit and miss fence panels). If you prefer your Venetian fencing to look the same on both sides, this is the natural choice for you.

Manufactured with care in our own workshop. Hit and miss panels are designed to create a seamless slatted look on both sides.

About the “Hit and miss” style

In simple terms, hit and miss is a batten placement pattern, in which the gaps of one side of the fence are covered by the battens of the other side. It should be noted, however, that at certain, unlikely angles, you will be able to see through small gaps in the fence.

Venetian Redwood Hit and Miss Fence Panels – FAQs

Q: Do Venetian hit and miss fence panels offer complete privacy?
A: These panels are designed to give excellent privacy while still allowing light and air to flow through your garden. Because the boards are arranged in an alternating “hit and miss” style, there is a slight gap when viewed from an angle. From straight on, they look almost solid, so they are perfect if you want a balance of privacy and ventilation.

Q: What does “hit and miss” mean in fencing?
A: “Hit and miss” describes the way the vertical boards are fixed. One board is placed on the front of the panel and the next is placed on the back, overlapping slightly, and so on across the width. This creates a smart, contemporary look with linear lines. It also reduces wind load on the fence, making hit and miss panels a great choice for exposed gardens or coastal areas where solid fencing might be vulnerable.

Q: How long are Venetian Redwood Hit and Miss Panels guaranteed for?
A: Our panels are made from premium redwood timber and pressure treated for long-lasting protection. They come with a 15-year anti-rot guarantee when installed above ground with the correct fixings. To maximise their lifespan, we recommend installing them with a gravel board (timber or concrete) to prevent direct ground contact and improve drainage.

Q: Do hit and miss fence panels work with concrete posts?
A: Yes – these panels slot neatly into slotted concrete posts, making installation quick and secure. This combination gives you a strong, low-maintenance fence with a crisp modern appearance. They can also be fixed to traditional timber posts if you prefer an all-wood look.

Q: Which posts do you recommend with Venetian hit and miss panels?
A: We suggest two main options, depending on the style you want:
Slotted concrete posts – extremely durable, maintenance-free, and easy to install.
Our heavy duty timber slotted posts   – ideal if you want a natural, matching timber finish.
Adding a concrete or timber gravel board is highly recommended to extend the life of your fence by keeping the panels off the ground.

Q: Are hit and miss fence panels wind resistant?
A: Yes. One of the big advantages of hit and miss fencing is that the design allows air to pass through the gaps, reducing wind pressure on the fence. This makes them a great choice for windy gardens compared to solid panels that can act like a sail.

Q: Why choose Venetian hit and miss panels?
A: These panels combine modern design with practical performance. The horizontal Venetian slats create clean, architectural lines that look great in contemporary gardens. The hit and miss structure provides privacy without making your garden feel boxed in. They are also more durable in windy conditions and carry a 15-year guarantee against rot and decay.
