Fencing Slats – 10 Pack – Planed with Eased Corners

Fencing Slats That Stand Above the Rest
Our fencing slats are used to create horizontal slatted fencing in gardens. They are popular with landscapers and designers wanting to transform a garden boundary.

If you’re shopping around for battens, here’s the most important question to ask: “What grade is the timber?”

Most suppliers won’t be able to tell you — and they are most likely selling 5ths grade timber, a lower quality chosen purely to maximise margins. There are around twelve different grades of battens in the UK, and ours sit right at the top.

We use joinery-grade Redwood, cut from unsorted Scandinavian side boards. This premium selection gives our slats a stunning grain pattern with very few knots, perfect for modern fencing and architectural projects. So check before you buy!

With us, you’re not just buying timber — you’re buying lasting quality and a vastly superior product.

Using individual fence slats to build your own panel? See our complete slatted fence panels for a ready-made contemporary fencing solution from £39.

Description

Fencing Slats for Slatted fencing – pack of 10 – 2.395m & 3.595m lengths for easy installation

Fencing slats, also known as landscape battens, are used to make horizontal fencing and trellis panels. Landscapers and garden designers use our fence slats for projects throughout the UK, and they form a key part of our wider garden fencing collection — popular for their high quality and reasonable price.

We cut them to size to save you time during installation, with perfectly square ends for fast fitting that saves time and money when building your fence.

Made from a joinery-grade Scandinavian Redwood with a planed finish and gently eased corners. It’s important to consider when ordering timber for slatted fencing that not all battens are the same grade. We only use the finest grade that means there are fewer knots and the wood is straighter with a clean and attractive tight grain. We use these slats to build our horizontal slat fence panels, so they have to be good!

Horizontal slatted fence DIY

Pressure-treated fencing slats are perfect for cladding over an existing fence. A popular way to get a clean new look is to attach fencing battens horizontally on top of your current fence posts. If you have concrete posts, you can screw a board to the front of your post to give a fixing point for your new battens. We recommend that vertical supports are fitted behind the battens at regular intervals to prevent the battens sagging these can be additional boards or even battens. For fixing your battens in place, a nail gun is the best option, and we think stainless steel brads are the least noticeable. Nail gun brads have a slim rectangular head that is smaller than round screw or nail heads, making them the ideal choice for DIY horizontal slatted fencing. Always use stainless steel to ensure you get a long-lasting fixing that will not rust.

The ideal landscape batten for contractors

We always keep this landscape batten in stock, you can collect it from our yard in Faversham, or we can deliver to your home delivery in a few days. We ensure these battens are of consistent quality and are always in stock and ready for you when you need them.

A + Grade Landscape slats with eased corners

Our fence slats are ‘Joinery grade’ Scandinavian Redwood, this grade is the highest quality available in this timber. It means that the wood has few knots and has minimal surface imperfections. The colour of our slats is also very attractive, unlike most others on the market, after a few weeks the green hue gradually fades and they turn a light golden brown colour. if you look at the gallery images of these battens installed as a fence, you can see that the green treatment fades and the wood colour begins to show.
